External validation of the histoplasmosis fatality score for predicting short-term mortality among people living with HIV in Panama

I am an Infectious Diseases physician and Internal Medicine specialist based in Panama, currently practicing at Hospital Santo Tomás and The Panama Clinic. My clinical work focuses on HIV medicine, tropical diseases, antimicrobial stewardship, and infections in immunocompromised patients. Although I have not completed formal fellowship training in transplant or non-HIV immunocompromised hosts, my greatest clinical and academic passion is the care of non-HIV immunocompromised patients. I am actively involved in clinical research, medical education, and infection prevention programs, with research interests in opportunistic infections, diagnostic stewardship, and the implementation of evidence-based strategies to improve infectious diseases care. I am always interested in establishing international research collaborations and welcome opportunities to work with colleagues and institutions around the world.
