Hasmik Harutunyan
Ministry of Health
I am a public health specialist with an initial educational background in clinical medicine, which I later complemented with a Master of Public Health degree from the American University of Armenia.
Over the past two decades, my professional experience in healthcare has progressively expanded into public health programming and implementation. I began my public health career at the Ministry of Health in the Foreign Relations Department, followed by coordination roles in various humanitarian and development projects. Since 2011, I have been part of the Ministry of Health’s Global Fund Project Coordination Team, where I led and managed Global Fund grant projects until 2023. Currently, I manage the Resilient and Sustainable Systems for Health (RSSH) component of the Global Fund grant, with primary responsibility for coordinating the transition to state financing of national TB and HIV programs.
Throughout my career, I have developed extensive experience collaborating with various international organizations, including the Global Fund, World Bank, Asian Development Bank, UN agencies, WHO, Médecins Sans Frontières, Médecins du Monde and others. At the same time, I have built strong partnerships with civil society, actively contributing to strengthened collaboration between NGOs and Ministry of Health structures. My work consistently focuses on advancing people-centered approaches and promoting equitable, accessible, and high-quality healthcare for all.
