Global commitment to human rights has deteriorated steadily in the 21st century, with serious and increasingly damaging effects on health. This session will explore the eight health and human rights domains reviewed by the International AIDS Society–Lancet Commission on Health and Human Rights (pandemics and access to essential interventions; the climate crisis; displacement, migration, refugees and conflict; structural racism and discrimination against marginalized groups; sexual and reproductive health and rights; misinformation, disinformation and the right to benefit from accurate scientific information; artificial intelligence; and the economic and commercial elements of the right to health). Speakers will urge all key decision makers to align their actions with health and human rights principles. This session is aimed at clinicians, clients, programme planners and implementers, researchers and policy makers.
