Andriy Klepikov is the Executive Director of the Alliance for Public Health, one of the largest HIV- and TB-focused NGOs in Ukraine and the region. As Founding Director, he manages over 100 staff members, implementing a complex and comprehensive HIV prevention, treatment and care programme, as well as programmes on TB, HCV and other diseases. Andriy supervises the regional portfolio, which includes over 20 countries in Eastern and Central Asia (EECA) and Central Europe. His management portfolio includes nationwide, regional and global projects funded by donors such as the Global Fund, PEPFAR, the Dutch Government and France 5% Initiative.

Andriy heads one of the largest harm reduction programmes globally in partnership with field-level NGOs, reaching over 200,000 people who inject drugs annually with its services. He is leading the transition of the largest opioid agonist therapy programme in the EECA region to state funding. Andriy also manages the TB/MDR TB programme in Ukraine and leads advocacy efforts in access to hepatitis C treatment, including a direct-acting antiviral treatment programme for key populations with over 98% success.

He received a PhD in philosophy in 1996 in Ukraine and did postdoctoral studies and research in sociology as a Visiting Scholar at the Graduate Faculty, New School for Social Research, New York, in 1996-1997. In 2008, he successfully completed the executive management education programme, International Masters in Practicing Management, run jointly by several universities and business schools led by INSEAD (France).

Andriy is an elected member of the Developing Country NGO Delegation to the Board of the Global Fund to fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria (since April 2013), Chair of the Oversight Advisory Committee of TB Europe Coalition, and member of the Steering Committee of the partnership, “Stop TB. Ukraine”.

Jürgen Rockstroh, MD, is Professor of Medicine and Head of the HIV Outpatient Clinic at the University of Bonn in Germany. He earned a Doctor of Medicine degree from the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms University of Bonn, and completed his residency in the Department of Medicine also at the University of Bonn. His department treats the world’s largest cohort of HIV-infected hemophiliacs.

 In addition to his clinical practice, Dr Rockstroh is involved in HIV research on: antiretroviral therapy, including new drug classes; the course of HIV disease in haemophiliacs; and HIV and hepatitis co-infection. More recently, he has also started working on the impact of COVID-19 on HIV-coinfection.  He has been an investigator in multiple clinical trials of antiretroviral agents and treatments for HIV, hepatitis co-infection and COVID-19.

From 2007-2011 he was elected as the president of the German AIDS Society. He is also since 2009 a member of the executive committee of the European AIDS Clinical Society (EACS) and from 2011-2020 member of the governing council of the International AIDS Society. He also was the chair of the National German AIDS Advisory Panel from  2011-2017 and the EACS coinfection guidelines from 2008-2017. In 2015 Professor Rockstroh was elected chair of HIV in Europe (in 2019 renamed as EuroTEST) and from 2019-2020 president for EACS.

The German Society for Infectious Diseases awarded Dr Rockstroh and his co-authors the prize in clinical infectious diseases in 2002, and the national AIDS research prize in 2005. Dr Rockstroh has authored or co-authored over 700 publications in peer-reviewed journals, and over 100 book chapters.

Adeeba Kamarulzaman is the Chief Executive Officer of Monash University Malaysia and the Pro Vice-Chancellor and President (Malaysia) of Monash University Australia. A graduate of Monash University Australia and trained in internal medicine and infectious diseases, she established the Infectious Diseases Unit and the Centre of Excellence for Research in AIDS (CERiA) at the University of Malaya, the only multidisciplinary research centre in Malaysia dedicated to HIV research in the community. Adeeba held the position of Dean, Faculty of Medicine, University of Malaya, from 2011 to 2019. In this position, her transformational leadership was evident through her robust medical undergraduate and postgraduate curriculum reforms.

She was President of the Malaysian AIDS Council from 2006 to 2010 and, in this capacity, was involved in advocating for and overseeing the implementation of community-based HIV and AIDS programmes across the country. She remains Chairman of the Malaysian AIDS Foundation, a trust that raises funds for HIV prevention, treatment and care programmes implemented by the Malaysian AIDS Council. She is presently Vice-Chair of the WHO Science Council and Commissioner for the Global Commission on Drug Policy and was recently appointed as a Member of the UNAIDS Global Council of Inequality, AIDS and Pandemics.

Her achievements have been recognized with several national and international awards, including an Honorary Doctor of Laws from Monash University for her contributions to medicine and as a health advocate.

Dr. Tetiana Deshko has been working in HIV/AIDS since 2001. As a part of Alliance for Public Health in Ukraine she led Field Programs Department and achieved success developing and implementing national HIV/AIDS program among key populations reaching annually to over 250 000 people, that resulted in decline in new infections in the country. Ukraine program is considered to be a model for the EECA region and is internationally acknowledged to be among best response practices in concentrated HIV epidemics. Starting from 2011 Tetiana has been managing international and multi-country projects in Asia, East Africa and EECA region. After war started in 2022, she engaged with humanitarian programs to support Ukraine. She holds PhD in social sciences.
