A global consensus statement on person-centred care within the HIV response: How we got here and where we are going next

It is increasingly recognized that healthcare for people living with and affected by HIV must integrate other health issues and be responsive to the evolving needs, priorities and preferences of each individual. In 2022-23, the IAS Person-Centred Care programme convened a consultation series to exchange on the concept of person-centred care in the HIV response. These consultations informed the development of draft consensus statements and recommendations which will be discussed at this satellite session. In addition, key learnings and results from a multi-round Delphi survey process to understand the reasons for consensus or dissent in order to reach a global consensus will be shared. This consensus can guide and support organizations, groups and individuals as they work towards realizing the full potential of person-centred care within and beyond the HIV response. The satellite session is addressed at clients, programme planners and implementers, researchers, as well as policy makers.
