Mpox in focus: Global insights on prevention and treatment

The World Health Organization declared mpox a public health emergency of international concern for the second time in August. This webinar convened leading experts to discuss the upsurge of mpox and priority emergency response measures.

Its purpose was to improve participants’ understanding of mpox prevention and treatment while encouraging global cooperation and community engagement by:

  • Providing updates on the latest data and guidance on mpox prevention and treatment options
  • Enhancing the global urgency of a coordinated and equitable response, including for mpox vaccination campaigns to be urgently scaled up across the African continent
  • Highlighting the role of communities in mpox monitoring, prevention and treatment
  • Sharing insights from the field on current challenges and experiences in prevention
  • Sharing updates from ongoing clinical trials
