New tools: New challenges

Today’s plenary reviews the new HIV prevention tools that are in development and/or being rolled out to communities. Broadly neutralizing antibodies (bNAbs) are a promising development in HIV prevention, and we will learn about the most recent research results. Being able to protect people from HIV acquisition with long-acting products raises the hope of providing effective and sustained prevention strategies that meet people’s needs. Multipurpose prevention products offer the user convenient and effective protection modalities, but there are implementation challenges to be overcome in some circumstances.
