The 12th Symposium builds on over a decade of meetings dedicated to the health and wellbeing of children and adolescents born HIV-free to women living with HIV, an estimated global population of nearly 16 million./pp/ppThis session titled “Optimizing development after perinatal HIV exposure” explores how perinatal HIV exposure may shape early neurocognitive development, emphasizing the role of responsive caregiving and play-based interventions in promoting optimal outcomes. It also examines mothers’ caregiving experiences to inform more effective policies and programmes that support both children and families.
