Delivering on the promise: Defining optimal implementation strategies and service delivery packages for the Dual Prevention Pill

Kate is the Senior Program Manager for Product Introduction and Access at AVAC where she primarily manages the Dual Prevention Pill (DPP) Consortium, a coalition of organizations working to bring the DPP to market. In this role, Kate coordinates and tracks activities across project partners and disseminates the latest project developments. More broadly, she contributes to new biomedical HIV prevention introduction plans and global conversations on HIV/SRH integration and other cross-cutting issues. Since joining AVAC, Kate has supported the development and execution of an initial Market Preparation and Introduction Strategy for the DPP, partnerships to advance HIV/SRH integration, and human-centered design research to inform demand generation for prevention.

Since 2004, Mitchell Warren has been Executive Director of AVAC, an international non-governmental organization that uses education, policy analysis, advocacy and a network of global collaborations to accelerate the ethical development and global delivery of new and emerging HIV prevention options as part of a comprehensive and integrated pathway to global health equity.
Prior to this, he worked with IAVI, The Female Health Company and Population Services International (PSI) in different roles all focused on developing and delivering public health innovations.
He is a member of the PEPFAR Scientific Advisory Board; the International AIDS Society Governing Council and the IAS Towards an HIV Cure Initiative; co-chair of the Global HIV Prevention Coalition; president of the TB Alliance Stakeholder Association; and past president of the Global HIV Vaccine Enterprise.
Mitchell has degrees in English and History at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and studied health policy at the Johns Hopkins University School of Hygiene and Public Health.

Dr. Ann Gottert is a social and behavioral scientist with the Population Council, specializing in HIV, sexual and reproductive health, and gender-based violence. She uses advanced research methods to understand individuals’ behavior within diverse social contexts and evaluate public health programs.
